Lime Cycles 193 Miles through Italy for Spinal Injuries Association

From 18th-22nd May, three of our personal injury solicitors took part in a 193-mile bike ride in Italy, to raise money and awareness for the Spinal Injuries Association!

They’ve done it!

Tony Hannington, Peter Jones and Martin Usher took to the Tuscan terrains of Pisa on Thursday, where they cycled just over 70 miles to their next destination; Florence. They were joined by Will Theaker of No5 Chambers and Tim Holzmann of Salford Royal Hospital. After a first day of battling hills in the Italian sunshine, the team began day two with an even more challenging ride towards Siena, where they finished their epic challenge on Saturday.

After the first 15km, still going strong!

Halfway there!

We are so pleased to be able to take part in such a fantastic cause. The Spinal Injuries Association does so much incredible work for people and families who have been affected by spinal injuries, and their regular campaigns and fundraising activities mean more and more people can get access to the help and support they deserve.

Peter said: “What was inspiring was the performance of three disabled competitors who tackled the hilly terrain at temperatures of over 30 degrees, which would have challenged any athlete! But, using a variety of hand cycles, and always with a smile on their faces, it made us feel humble and helped bond the whole group together superbly well.”

At the time of writing, Tony, Martin and Peter raised £3,060! The JustGiving page will remain open for a period now they have completed their challenge. If you would like to donate, please click here.

Well done everyone!
