We were instructed to represent Julie, a woman who sought to take legal action against her solicitors for their negligence during her personal injury claim.
The situation
In spring 2011 Julie was involved in a road traffic accident and sustained serious injuries. When speaking with our team, Julie alleged that there were clear failures in gathering evidence as to the seriousness of her injuries following the collision, and also failures in presenting this evidence to court.
Due to this negligence, Julie was awarded approx. £9,000 in damages which was significantly lower than the true value of her claim.
How Lime helped Julie’s case
In our view, Julie claim was worth approx. £3 million which by this point included compensation for distress caused by the negligent behaviour of her original solicitors. We issued the claim with trial planned for summer 2024, although the claim settled earlier in the year for a substantial amount.
A note from Karim Mohamed
“Julie has faced several years of litigation: first the road traffic accident claim which settled in 2016 at a substantial undervalue and then her claim for negligence. Throughout the latter, we supported Julie and a key purpose of the negligence claim was to give her peace of mind that she had a team of professionals at Lime as well barristers and experts, managing her claim competently, so that her serious condition was adequately reflected in the damages that Lime Solicitors achieved.”
