I qualified as a solicitor in June 2017 specialising in clinical negligence and product liability claims.
My clinical negligence work has involved a wide range of medical disciplines including ophthalmology, neurology, oncology, plastic surgery, orthopaedic surgery, cardiology, gynaecology, obstetrics, radiology, emergency medicine and general practice. I have acted for individuals bringing claims in respect of allegedly negligent treatment provided by general practitioners, NHS hospital trusts, private physicians, private surgeons and dentists. I have also represented bereaved families at Inquests.
I am a member of APIL (Association of Personal Injury Lawyers), and the Secretary of the Multi-Party Action APIL special interest group.
I have assisted with two large multi-party product liability actions involving injury claims against a manufacturer of intraocular lenses and claims against a global pharmaceutical company for clients with a serious neurological injury following a vaccine. I have also successfully secured payments for an injured claimant under the Vaccine Damage Payment Act 1979.
I also have several years of experience of personal injury work, including complex high-value brain and spinal injury cases.
I strongly believe in access to justice. Being able to help clients who have suffered both physical and psychological injuries as a result of negligence is why I chose to specialise in this field. No amount of money can ever truly compensate a death or a significant injury which means you are no longer able to work or to be independent, however securing compensation for those affected is extremely satisfying by ensuring their lives are returned as much as possible to the way they were before.
I believe justice is also secured by ensuring health bodies are held to account when errors have been made. It is vital that lessons are learned to prevent the same mistakes being made.
Cases involving catastrophic injuries, particularly those suffered at birth can take a number of years as they require extensive legal and medical investigations. As a Solicitor, I always ensure I build a strong relationship with my clients and their families so that they are comfortable to ask me any questions no matter how big or small. I appreciate the distress my clients have faced and I try my best to ensure my clients feel at ease and feel that they are in safe hands.
