Complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) is a debilitating condition that can have a serious effect on your life. You may feel like you have nowhere to turn to, that no one is listening to you and how much pain you are in. You may spend nights awake with burning pain, wondering if your life will ever get any better.

Those treating you may not know what is causing you to be in so much pain and you may be going from appointment to appointment feeling like no one is listening to you. CRPS could have affected your ability to work, possibly even leaving you unable to work and on long term disability benefits.

Our experienced complex regional pain syndrome lawyers can assist in recovering compensation following an accident that was not your fault. We will listen to you and have a network of experts that can recommend ways in which your life can be improved. To speak to one of the team please call us on 0808 164 0808 or request a call back and we’ll call you.

What can trigger CRPS?

The pain associated with complex regional pain syndrome can be triggered by a trauma. It can be a car accident or a very minor trauma such as a slip or fall where you do not break a bone. However, you do not recover as you expect to and your symptoms become debilitating. Generally, the symptoms will be limited to 1 limb however in some cases they can spread to other parts of the body.

Sometimes those treating you do not understand why and it can take a long time to diagnose you. Our expert CRPS lawyers understand the specific diagnosis criteria and will fight to get you access to treatment to assist you at an early stage.

There are 2 types of CRPS. Type I, previously referred to as reflex sympathetic dystrophy, is where there is no direct nerve damage and accounts for around 90% of cases. Type II CRPS is where nerve damage has occurred, this is sometimes called causalgia.

I already have a solicitor but they are not listening to me. Can I change?

Sometimes you may feel like your solicitor does not understand you and is not listening to how affected you are as a result of the accident. This may be because they do not have the specialist knowledge to deal with your claim. Chronic pain cases require a specialist solicitor to act on your behalf.

You have the freedom to choose who handles your claim. You can change solicitors at any time during your personal injury claim. You do not need to give your solicitor a reason for wanting to change.

If you wish to change solicitor, we would recommend you do so quickly. We will write to your solicitors and request your file, confirming that we will preserve their entitlement to legal costs so there is no charge to you.

Please contact our specialist team on 0808 164 0808 if you are unhappy with your solicitor.

Why choose Lime for your CRPS personal injury claim?

Suffering from CRPS can be isolating and worrying. You may not know who to turn to or feel like no one is listening to you. Unfortunately, being diagnosed with CRPS can take some time and the treatment is often quite complex and lengthy.

As specialist CRPS solicitors, we’re aware of the difficulties clients face with or without a diagnosis. We instruct specialist medical experts who understand CRPS and make sure that you can access rehabilitation and interim payments along the way, helping you get back on track. CRPS injury compensation cases are usually strongly defended so it is important that you instruct a solicitor with particular expertise in dealing with these claims.

We are not a claims management company but a law firm authorised and regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority. We can agree to take on your case and advise of your chances of success and won’t simply refer you to another business. We have a network of offices and have clients throughout England and Wales.

We pride ourselves on our customer service and have been awarded Feefo’s Gold Trusted Service award for the last 2 years.
