Unfortunately, the diagnosis for endometriosis is a lengthy, complicated process. In some women, the condition can take between seven and ten years to manifest clear symptoms that can’t be confused with other conditions. Misdiagnosis often occurs because medical professionals may mistake the condition for any of the following with similar symptoms:
Many women who seek medical help for their endometriosis symptoms may be given the incorrect treatment, which can make their condition worse. This can lead to poor quality of life and further complications.
In general you have three years from the date of negligence or reasonable knowledge of mistreatment by a medical professional causing you harm to bring a medical negligence compensation claim. There are some exceptions to this rule; for instance where the matter involves a child in which case the child has three years from the date of their 18th birthday to bring a claim, therefore expiring on the individual’s 21st birthday.
