Tier 1: Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence – East Midlands

The 2021 Legal 500 rankings were released on 30th September 2020, and we are pleased to announce that our East Midlands-based Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence teams remain ranked at Tier 1.

Robert Rose, Head of Clinical Negligence at Lime Solicitors, said: “I am immensely proud to see the Clinical Negligence and Personal Injury teams achieve, again, Tier 1 status. To be judged by your peers and clients worthy of this position is a testament to the quality and passion of our teams in the East Midlands. We will continue to do everything we can to make our clients receive the compensation they deserve and to make sure our healthcare system and places of work remain as safe as possible for them.”

Robert Rose heads up our Leicester team, while Kathryn Hart heads up our team in Nottingham.

Tier 2: Contentious Trusts and Probate

We also achieved Tier 2 status for Contentious Trusts and Probate, led by Head of Inheritance Disputes Andrew Wilkinson , and strongly supported by Legal Director Debra Burton. The team is described as a “formidable force”, and regularly supports its key client, Battersea Dogs and Cats Home.

Feedback from clients includes: “The team lead by Andrew Wilkinson is extremely well regarded in the market place in the East Midlands and increasingly nationally. The firm is known for being innovative and forward-thinking.”

Tier 2: Professional Negligence

The Shakespeare Martineau brand achieved Tier 2 rankings for Professional Negligence, and The Legal 500 specifically mentioned Legal Director Michael Young, who handles this area of practice for Lime Solicitors.

“Michael Young is an intelligent and talented lawyer. He has a strong commercial instinct and steers his clients through litigation with sound and pragmatic advice, though can be relied upon to fight a client’s corner fearlessly when needed.”

Tier 5: Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence – West Midlands

Head of Lime Solicitors Tony Hannington and Personal Injury Associate Vicky Blodwell have been recognised for their hard work and dedication to these areas of practice at the Birmingham office, West Midlands.

After instructing Lime’s Birmingham team, one client commented: “Shakespeare Martineau’s PI department is efficient, well-organised and effective, as one would expect from a large and well-respected law firm. It attracts good-quality work and, in my experience, invariably provides clients with an excellent service.”
